Cindy Sheehan Vigil in Waltham

Wednesday August 17, 2005

Cindy SheehanTonight there were an estimated 1600 candlelight vigils in cities and towns around the US in solidarity with Cindy Sheehan, the woman who's been camped out near President Bush's Crawford home to ask him what noble cause justified the death of her son Casey in Iraq.

More than 70 people showed up for this vigil on Waltham Common, organized by Jill Kolva. It was a somber event without any political speeches.

Hilary wore a shirt honoring 22-year-old Sgt. Felix Del Greco Jr, a National Guardsman killed in an ambush while on patrol in Baghdad three days after arriving.

Meet with Cindy Our mission is to persuade President Bush to meet with Cindy Sheehan and answer her questions about why the war that took her son's life was started and why it is being continued. The MoveOn family of organizations brings real Americans back into the political process. With over 3.3 million members across America, we work together to realize the progressive vision of our country's founders.
